Transportations to downtown:
Taxi--are available from taxi stops which are located in front of the terminal buildings. About $100, 60-90 minutes to downtown.

Rail--both terminals have their own train stations. Keisei Electric Railway offers services to Keisei Ueno in center Tokyo, fares only about $10. The most expensive train and faster, Narita Express, fares about $30.

    How to get around in Tokyo?

    1. By subway
It is the easiest way to get around Tokyo for its extensive, efficient, and safe. Run times are posted on the wall and most of them are always on schedule. All station names are written in Japanese and the Roman alphabet. Remember pick up a color-coded English subway map from the Tourist Information Center at the airport.

2. By train
Several railway lines crisscross Tokyo, providing a scenic way of traversing the city. The speed is fast. Also bullet train to destinations out of town, it is more expensive than regular trains. Most trains run from about 5am to midnight. JR is the national railway, check information at 03-3423-0111.

3. By taxi
Taxis can be hailed easily on most streets most times. They are very expensive in Tokyo, starting at approximately $6 for the first two kilometers with an additional 76 cent ($) for each 274 meters. Better check the name and address of the place you're going to, preferably in Japanese.

4. By Bus
A complementary way to around for foreigners while the trains and subways don't. For the drivers can not speak English understood and all the stop names are in Japanese, so better get the detailed instructions and tell the driver the exact name of place where you go.

5. On foot
Walking is the most enjoyable way of exploring districts and shopping.

Tokyo's climate belongs to humid subtropical monsoon climate. In summer it is hot, humid and often hit by typhoons. The rainy season lasts from late June until mid-July. Umbrella is necessary for you everyday in rainy season.
Visiting the city is a pleasure at anytime except the sweltering July and August in summer.

Warm spring is comfortable, and short-sleeves are good choice in daytime. But the weather is changeable and the temperature is fluctuates very much. Take a jacket ready at all times. And the early spring, you should take heavy coat.
